The sweetest floral enamel jewelry!
How it's made: For each piece I start with a sketch and transfer it onto flat sterling silver sheet, I then cut out the floral stem and flowers with a jewelers saw, it has a very fine blade almost like a string. This allows me to get intense detail in my saw work. After all the pieces are formed and engraved I solder them with a high temperature solder. I then add enamel, it's like grains of sand and is applied wet which is called "wet packing." Now the exciting part, I put the entire piece with enamel into a 1450° kiln to fuse the luxurious colored enamel to thee silver. There's a lot of careful clean up after the kiln and a dip in an oxidation bath to darken the silver which I then remove about 90% of to just highlight the details. It's truly a labor of love!
